ELECTRIC

HONEY

The Electric Honey Experience is an annual camping festival that focuses around the values of community, self-expression, music, and art. During the weekend of October 6th-8th, the Electric Honey Family embarked on an adventurous journey at the 2023 festival. The event featured a diverse lineup of 17 musical acts, spanning from Berlin techno DJs to Indie Rock Bands, performing against the backdrop of canyons, at times 500 feet in the air. Additionally, the festival offered activities such as ecstatic dance groups and guided yoga session

The event's atmosphere harkened back to the raw and countercultural energy of the 1960s hippie movements. Attendees engaged in free-spirited activities such as naked pilgrimages up Honey Mountain, witnessed 6' 8" men biking down the mountain in the nude while under the influence of LSD, and enjoyed equestrian-inspired boogie sessions on the dance floor. What truly sets the Electric Honey Experience apart is the sense of belonging within the Electric Honey Family. An exclusive invitation process and a community-forging honey ritual work together to create an inclusive environment that fosters self-expression and creativity.

“Love. This was made with so much love and passion that words cannot express. The Electric Honey Festival was the most authentic experience with the most genuine people. It was a chance to let go of some of your worries and negative experiences and simply enjoy the moment. I never stopped smiling—not even for a split second. I got lost in the resonance of sound and was surrounded by the most beautiful and caring people. I would not have believed you if you had told me that I would be traveling to the desert with more than 100 of my closest friends, but it turned out to be real.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who helped to make this experience possible. I am truly grateful for what you have done. I’ll tell my children and grandchildren the story of how a few remarkable people made the greatest weekend of my life. I feel extremely lucky and glad to have been a part of this. I can’t wait to share more wonderful experiences with you all and see what the upcoming year holds.”

“There are no words to describe how much joy Electric Honey brought me. I feel so fortunate to have been dancing all weekend in the middle of Utah with the most incredible people by my side. When I was asked to play a set I had no idea what to expect. Once I arrived I was quite literally transported into the most amazing environment perfectly curated to fit everyone’s energy.

On Friday night, when the sun began to set, I plugged in my USB and will never forget watching everyone come down and dance - hands down my favorite set I’ve ever played. No better feeling then crying to the last song I played out of pure happiness. Thank you to everyone who showed me love, truly an experience I will never forget.”

“Taking a break from the Boulder bar and frat scene, you would think you’ve been transported to an alternate dimension where the love-ins and festivals of the 60s never died. Electric Honey felt like the rebirth of the culture the generations that came before us marveled about and what we’ve all been searching for here at Boulder. Electric Honey brought together some of the most incredible, talented, kind-hearted individuals for a weekend of life, love, and music. Yoga with Alex at sunrise, jams with The Turkeys on the mountain at sunset and then getting into it with house, dubstep, trance, and techno after the sun went down. Can’t wait to see you next year!”
